It takes a fine eye, talent and years of experience to be able to create a unique ambiance through concrete. At California Jungle, Inc. We are able to take the standard commercial look out of concrete, even for commercial accounts. We create a softer more inviting feel to every project we design. There are many different varieties in concrete today that allow us to cater to all different tastes and expectations. There are many different techniques that you can choose from such as; natural stone, color, stain, stamp, dust on, and many different finishes.

Landscapes are dynamic sometimes it becomes apparent when upgrades are necessary. Design flexibility is assured as a result of our knowledge of materials, sources of supply and construction techniques gained from years of field experience. Our design and construction teams have the experience and knowledge to create landscape environments that meet and exceed our clients’ needs. Sometimes your landscape may just require the infill of additional plants and controversially, some landscapes are planted to densely. California Jungle, Inc. will evaluate your landscape and might make a recommendation that selective plants be removed so that remaining plants look better and are able to grow in a more natural and less distorted form. We also can replace damaged plant material. Before replacement California Jungle, Inc. will evaluate the site and amendments to verify that all factors are in place to ensure the plants success.

TREE CARE:
Proper tree care includes pruning, fertilization, and readjustment of tree support on all trees fewer than 15 feet or less. A certified arborist is available for consultation if required.
TREE PRUNNING (trimming):
Tree pruning should be considered a process NOT an event. Pruning is cyclic by nature, careful and correct pruning produces structurally sound trees. Additionally properly pruned trees help with disease and pest management. Appropriate pruning will improve aesthetics while prolonging the useful life of your trees.

MAINTENANCE CARE OF YOUR TURF, PLANTS AND GROUND COVER:
Our maintenance programs provide the best care for your turf plants and ground cover. Properly managed turf requires mowing, edging, weed control, fertilization and aeration as required. Our comprehensive programs are designed to take optimum advantage of proper horticulture practices by using controlled release fertilizers, grass cycling and water management. Care and maintenance of your shrubs include cultivating all the beds, weeding, deadheading plants, grooming and shaping plant material, pruning to intended design. Plant health is promoted through appropriate water management, fertilization and implementation of pest control.
FERTILIZATION:
Proper fertilization insures growth and disease resistance. We use slow release seasonal fertilizer depending on the season. We use specific fertilizer for your type of turf and bedding. As a result turf maintained by California Jungle remains green and healthy year round.
HERBICIDES:
California Jungle, Inc. employees receive training on proper selection and safe application of herbicides. Herbicides are used to reduce weeds throughout your property. Herbicides help reduce the labor and disposal costs associated with eliminating weeds from the landscape. California Jungle, Inc. selects herbicides that are friendly to the environment and to you. Herbicides are necessary because weeds compete with ornamentals for light, water, fertilizer and space.
DISEASE AND INSECT CONTROL:
Proper plant and tree management is essential. Proper management help plants and trees maintain their health and vigor in the environment. Weekend trees are susceptible to disease and insect infestations. Some disease and pest control techniques may include soil injection, foliar application, aerification or soil amendments.
SOME COMMON PROBLEMS:
Aphids-Cause most of their damage from late spring to early summer. To control. Do not over fertilize with nitrogen. Hand pick or pinch them off the foliage as soon as pests appear in the spring. Prune infested shoots. Chives, coriander, garlic, petunias, southernwood and spearmint deter aphids. They also have many natural predators, such as ladybugs, spiders and lacewings.
Sooty mold- various fungi cause sooty mold. The leafs need to be wiped off the affected foliage and honeydew secreting insects need to be controlled.
Spider mite- Mites love hot, dry conditions. Outdoors they are active from early spring to late fall. To control mites, hose off plants daily with strong stream of water. You can kill mites by spraying them with insecticide soap. For chemical control use a pesticide such as diazion or malathion.
IRRIGATION:
Irrigation is a vital support system to most California Landscapes. Although it is not as visible as the plant material, an efficient irrigation system is critical to healthy plant material.

UPGRADE: As a landscape matures it is not unusual for an initially adequate system to become insufficient. As your landscape matures shrubs may block adequate coverage. California Jungle can evaluate your systems damage and make any necessary recommendations.
RESTORATION: An irrigation system, as with all systems need to be up kept. This includes damaged irrigation systems. Sometimes the damage is due to hard water clogging the heads, the sun damaging exposed parts or just because of their age. California Jungle can make repairs as simple as a broken head or as complicated as repairing a cracked mainline.
REMOVAL: Sometimes it is necessary to remove a part of a system or an entire system. This could be due to improper installation, bad parts, improper parts or an old inadequate system.
INSTALLATION: If you want to redo your landscape or have brand new scape it is important that an adequate irrigation system is installed for the health and growth of your plants and turf. There are many things that need to be decided when installing an irrigation system and California Jungles' team of irrigation specialist can provide this service.
Irrigation Checks: It is important to have you irrigation system checked at least twice a year. As with any system routine care and maintenance are essential for optimum performance. We go thoroughly through the system checking and adjusting the heads, nozzles and valves ensuring proper distribution so your system will operate efficiently. We also check your clock timer make sure it is set correctly for the right time of year. Ex: More water for the summer less in the winter and periodically will turn off your system during heavy rains. We will also make any necessary irrigation reinvention recommendations.

Using water conserving California Native plants is one of our specialties.
